From Rodeo to Romance | Abby & Cody’s Coastal Engagement Session

There are few things more meaningful in my work as a wedding photographer than being invited back by a couple for another special milestone. I had the absolute joy of capturing Abby and Cody’s proposal back in February—on their anniversary, no less!—So getting to photograph their engagement session felt like the perfect next chapter in their story.

Abby and Cody chose to do their session on the Texas coast, and Galveston truly showed off for us. I mean… the water was actually blue. I don’t know who pulled the strings, but we’ll take it! With a soft breeze, warm light, and that hint of salt in the air, it was the dreamiest backdrop for a couple this in love.

Their story started at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where they met while volunteering on the Gatekeepers Committee. These two are everything I love about this work—fun, genuine, and head-over-boots for each other. Their session wasn’t about poses or perfection; it was about real connection, sweet memories, and so much laughter. The kind of shoot where time flies and you walk away smiling.

I cannot wait for their wedding day, and I’m so grateful to be capturing this beautiful season in their lives.
